What an incredible summer we had meeting families who benefited hugely from a respite break with us. For a few of our families, it was their first holiday together. A severely autistic non-verbal 3-year-old boy, whose father had recently died uttered his first ever word and then a further 7 more followed that week. A child who would not easily leave the house, wanted to be outside as much as possible in the beautiful surroundings that Timber Hill has to offer and socialise with the other children.

A family who suffered the tragic loss of their teenage daughter from drowning, sat in the sea for over 2 hours together, with the mother sleeping all night without a nightmare for the first time since it happened 2 years ago.

A beautiful young family whose newborn baby died on the way home from the hospital, never forgetting, were able to enjoy family time with their 3 and 8 year old. The children had so much fun making friends and exploring the grounds. The massive impact that Jennie’s Children’s Trust has on people’s lives is clear to see.
